Applications Programs Indenture
The Applications Programs Indenture database used by the Government was originally developed to record and continually update the configuration and allow order placement throughout the programmed life of equipment. Additionally, the Bills of Material (BoMs) contained within the database are supposed to be a direct representation of the technical data contained within the Illustrated Parts Breakdowns (IPBs) and/or Source Control Drawings (SCDs) as required by Operational Safety, Suitability and Effectiveness (OSS&E) regulations. However, over time the information contained within API has been corrupted and the process for Government personnel to update API is laborious and burdensome.
Recognising the importance of API to our customers and the need to help automate the updating process, BAE Systems developed an API Export feature within AVCOM. Using the BoMs in AVCOM or creating electronic BoMs through our porting process, BAE Systems can generate a correct 160 character text (or Excel) file per the DID DI-ALSS-81221A format. This means the Engineer and/or Equipment Specialist is no longer tied to the “one line at a time” D200F update system. By utilising our proven process, BAE Systems personnel can generate API exports, compare them to the current Full Range Listing (FRL) in D200F, create the necessary Type of Action (TOA) files for Government review, and submit the files to Wright Paterson AFB for updating and maintaining the API database.
